The Soldiers of Odin are hitting the bars to keep women safe.

Ty Hero, with the Vernon chapter of the club, said the SOO has received reports of women being drugged at local clubs.

“I heard of a few cases from (a recent) show as well as a young lady at a local pub...that never made it out conscious,” Hero posted Monday on the community Facebook page.
“SOO is forming preventative surveillance teams to keep a watchful eye for the next while in hopes to catch the perpetrator(s) and make people out on the town feel a little safer.

“We're looking for volunteers to assist us in spreading out, staying sober and paying attention to the surroundings at these places on Friday and Saturday nights.”

Hero said anyone interested in volunteering can message him through Facebook.

Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy, with the Vernon RCMP, said she is unaware of any reports of women being drugged in area bars.
