Armstrong crash closed hwy

A two-vehicle collision by the train crossing at Highway 97 and Grandview Flats Road in Armstrong closed the highway for some time last night.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., a 56-year-old female driver in a Chevrolet car stopped at the train crossing on the highway because the flashing red indicators were on, according to the RCMP.

A 32-year-old female driver in a 2000 Dodge van came up behind the car, failed to stop in time and side swiped the car on the passenger side, police said.

The woman in the van was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The highway was closed until both vehicles could be towed from the scene.
