Check out hot new art

The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan is heating things up this winter with a series of hot new art exhibitions across nine locations in Kelowna.

Artscape is a suite of community exhibition spaces, run year-round, in 9 locations across Kelowna, including the Okanagan Regional Library, Kelowna Community Theatre, Okanagan College’s Kelowna Campus Library, as well as other local businesses.

The Artscape exhibitions provide local professional and emerging artists with high-profile showcase locations and marketing opportunities. 15 local artists are featured in the 2017 Artscape winter session, including, new this season, a sculpture exhibition hosted at Kelowna Tickets.

When you’re near the Rutland Okanagan Regional Library, Kelowna Tickets or Cottonwoods Care Centre, stop in to check out winter exhibits from local artists like Carney Oudendag, Donna Vanderlip, Kyle Zsomber & Heath Tait or Lynne Stevens & Alison Beaumont until the end of March.

Bringing exciting energy and beauty to communal spaces and local businesses, Artscape also provides a number of learning opportunities for young people to work alongside experienced artistic professionals. Emerging artist, Nicole Young is the intern for Artscape and she administers and organizes the entire, seasonally-rotating, program including assisting with jurying, exhibition hanging and management.

Would you like to learn more about how to hang artwork? ARTSCO is currently looking for volunteers to assist with exhibition installation. All Artscape volunteers will receive hands-on training on best practices on hanging art exhibitions.
