Emergency crews and police were called to a residential street in Abbotsford this morning after a deadly shooting.
Police say shots were fired on Steelhead Court shortly before 10 a.m. Emergency crews found an injured man in his mid-20s suffering from gunshot wounds.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
An Abbotsford police officer saw a suspect vehicle fleeing the area at high speed.
The officer followed the vehicle on Highway 11 and eventually into Mission.
It was disabled with a spike belt.
Three men have been taken into custody.
The neighbourhood is close to Townline Hill, an area that has been subject to recent gang activity.
The area has many warnings from police agencies, saying people connected to the conflict could be in danger.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is taking over the investigation.
