UPDATE: 9:35 a.m.
Fog at Kelowna International Airport Saturday led to five flights being cancelled or delayed late Saturday night, according to airport manager Sam Sammadar.
"We got into low visibility so we went below minimum height (restrictions) for our aircraft to land," Sammadar explained, adding that weather conditions were perfect currently for this kind of problem.
Sammadar said of the affected flights between 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., four were diverted while another flight never left the ground in Seattle.
Westjet had three affected flights.
"Due to a very foggy day/night yesterday we cancelled three flights out of Kelowna and diverted three flights to Vancouver," said Lauren Stewart, Westjet spokesperson. "All diverted guests will be reaccomodated today."

A number of flights to Kelowna International Airport were diverted to Vancouver late last night due to a weather problem.
One man who had been on an Westjet flight from Phoenix to Kelowna said his family had expected to land around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
"The flight was an hour late taking off and then we diverted (to Vancouver)," he said.
A Westjet staffer told people on board that flight that up to 300 passengers on board three flights had been affected by the diversion, he said.
"It was a weather-related diversion," confirmed Lauren Stewart, Westjet spokesperson.
Many passengers were unable to get hotel accommodation and were left sitting in Vancouver airport all night.
According to the airport's web page, most flights appeared to be running normally on Sunday morning.
