Kelowna's Shanelle Connell is looking to become Miss Canada.

The 21-year-old is originally from Calgary, but moved to Kelowna when she was 16.

After graduating in graphic design at the Centre for Arts and Technology, and working in marketing for a year, she is now completing a psychology degree at UBC Okanagan.

She'll be heading to Vancouver to compete in the provincial finals in March. If she's successful there, she'll move onto the national stage this summer.
