Fire at Mexican resort

UPDATE 10:15 p.m.

Castanet has contacted the hotel and they have stated everyone has been evacuated from the building and the fire has been extinguished.


The Gran Bahia Principe Tulum resort in Riviera Maya went up in flames this evening. 

Castanet has received reports that the circle bar and theatre have all burned down.

The popular resort has 978 rooms, three pools, five restaurants and seven bars. 

It is unsure what caused the fire. No injuries have been reported. 

We will update you as more information becomes available.
