Auction in son's memory

A Keremeos man is holding a silent auction in memory of his late son.

Wayne Stolz is organizing the sports memorabilia auction to honour his son Wayne Paul Stolz. Money raised will go Penticton Minor Hockey.

"I always wanted to honour him, but I didn't realize how time goes by in this world," Stolz said "I feel wonderful now that I am doing something big for him."

The youngest child in Stolz family died at the age of 24 in Feb. 2002 when a logging truck collided with his vehicle while travelling on Highway 33 near Beaverdell.

At the time of his death he was working as a sales representative at Budget Rent a Car, but was also an avid hockey player.

The auction will include autographed collector hockey cards from Blake Wesley and Robert Dirk, complimentary tickets to a Penticton Vees Games, gift cards for local businesses and more.

"I feel like support is just pouring in from all these people who want to do so much for this auction in memory of my son and for minor hockey," Stolz said. "I just can't believe the positive response."

The auction will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Sandman Hotel in Penticton.

For more information call Stolz at 250-499-2147.
