Those travelling between Sicamous and Revelstoke will face significant delays this morning, as new avalanche control systems are being installed on Highway 1.

DriveBC reports there will be multiple closures along the highway from 43 kilometres east of Sicamous to nine kilometres west of Revelstoke between 8 and 11 a.m.

Highway crews will be installing a new remote avalanche control system at several points along the highway, including at Three Vally Gap.

Delays of up to 45 minutes are expected.
