A local tire shop has tapped into Game of Thrones to warn that "winter is coming."

Bruce and Penny Stranaghan, the owners of Integra Tire, have some hidden talents, including film production and speaking Dothraki.

In a commercial for Integra Tire, Penny learned to speak the language of Dothraki from the popular Game of Thrones (GoT) TV show.

Bruce says Penny came up with the trendy take on the slogan from the GoT series.

“Winter, they talk about it lots on the Game of Thrones, so it fit nicely with us,” he said. “On YouTube there is a lot of compilation videos of the actors saying 'Winter is Coming,' so that is how it started from there and we built on the idea.”

Staff at Integra Tire are fully on board with the Stranaghan’s video project and many appear in the commercial, repeating the phrase "Winter is Coming."

Filmed around Kelowna from Knox Mountain to the business on Enterprise, Bruce shot the video himself.  

He says the response has been great.

“People are phoning and asking if the dragons are gone so they have room to park. It has probably been the best response of all the videos we have ever done,” said Bruce.

Bruce and his wife have done several ads together for their business, from funny to more serious.

“Sometimes my wife goes a little crazy with some of the ideas,” he laughed. “It is a way to reach out and it kind of gets everybody here going for the season.”

Winter is the busiest season for Integra Tire, so they won’t be producing any more videos until spring — but Bruce says keep an eye out because more will be coming.
