Human remains found

UPDATE: 5:10 p.m.

Police say their investigation into dismembered body parts found in Langley points to a targeted gang hit.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has not yet said how the person died, and police believe the man was killed somewhere else.

"This is a gruesome event that took place," said Cpl. Meghan Foster at a news conference.

She wouldn't say whether all the body parts were found.

"Police strongly encourage anyone with information about this homicide to step forward," she said.
