Duo caught in the act

The RCMP are reaching out through the media in hopes of returning some stolen goods to the rightful owners.

The items were recovered by police after seizing items from two theft suspects arrested in Rutland this morning.

On Oct. 24 at 5:39 a.m., Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of a possible theft in progress from a vehicle.

“An observant citizen witnessed an unknown man with a flashlight inside a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Clarissa Road,” said Const. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“Officers arrived on scene promptly and located two suspects who were taken into police custody without incident.”

The suspects, a 24-year-old Kelowna man and a 29-year-old Kelowna woman, were held in police custody and face potential charges.

They were both found to be in possession of several items police believe to be stolen from various vehicles parked in the area.

“Residents in the area are being asked to check their vehicles for any signs of entry or theft,” added O’Donaghey.

“If you have been the victim of a theft from your vehicle and have not yet reported the incident to police you are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.”
