Surveillance video at Hunter's grocery store on Pleasant Valley Road may have done the trick.
Vernon RCMP have two suspects in custody on unrelated matters who are being looked at in connection with a break and enter at Hunter's early Wednesday, according to Cpl. J.R. Leckie, RCMP spokesperson.
He refused to give any other details.
According to both police and store owner Harry Singh, two people were involved in smashing the glass front door and then attempting but failing to steal an ATM machine that was bolted to the ground.
Surveilliance video caught a man and a woman breaking into the shop around 4:20 a.m., Singh said.
