Snow, fog on Connector

Expect to hit snow and fog if you're travelling on the Okanagan Connector today.

Environment Canada is forecasting fog and rain that will turn to snow this afternoon.

A possible five centimetres of snow is expected at Pennask Summit. Vehicles traveling Highway 97C and other mountain highways in B.C. must have winter tires with the mountain/snowflake symbol or M+S (mud and snow) designation, with at least 3.5 mm tread.

Rain is also expected on the Coquihalla, ending late this evening.

On Highway 33, drivers can expect much the same – rain and snow at high elevations near. An anticipated 10 cm of snow is expected to fall throughout the day.

In the Central Okanagan expect showers throughout the day, ending this evening, with a low of 5 C.

Friday, the sun is expected to appear again with a high of 11 C, but rain will return Friday night, clearing Saturday morning.

Temperatures should reach about 10 C over the weekend.
