CRIME:  THEFT OF ATV

DATE:    October 12, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-61496

Thieves took advantage of a 45 minute window of opportunity in the rural Postill Road area on October 12th.  A man unloaded his ATV from his truck at the 3 km mark on Postill Lake Road, hiked with his dog for 45 minutes and returned to find his ATV had been taken.  The ATV is a white and black 2011 Can Am Renegade 800 with a snorkel kit and radiator relocation kit (places the radiator higher on the bumper).  The VIN for the vehicle is 3JBHGDN1XBJ000566 and had Alberta license plate number HHM98.

CRIME:  THEFT OF HILTI TOOLS

DATE:    October 6, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-60489

The new Memorial Parkade construction site on Ellis Street had a couple of unwanted visitors on October  6th.    Tools chained together inside the building were hauled away by at least two people due to the size and weight.  The chain was found nearby with the lock cut off.  The suspects made off with approximately $14,000 in tools that included:

  • Two Hilti DG150 hand grinders with converter box  S/N 66844 and 66845
  • Two Hilti TE1000 AVR jack hammer (breakers)  S/N 54649 and 54654
  • DG150 tooling (6 cup wheels)
  • TE1000 AVR tooling

The grinding units and converter boxes were engraved with “Unit 2” and “Unit 4”.
