Cougars stifle Rockets

The Kelowna Rockets scored first in their return engagement with the unbeaten Prince George Cougars Friday.

They didn't find the net much after that.

The Rockets were held to just 16 shots, including four in the third as they tried to come back from a one goal deficit.

They gave up two in a 4-1 loss.

Jake Kryski scored the lone Kelowna goal just 2:45 into the game. It was his second of the season.

Brad Morrison tied it late in the first, then scored what proved to be the winner early in the second.

A pair of insurance goals in the third put it away.

The Rockets have scored just twice in a pair of losses to the Cougars over the past three days.

Michael Herringer suffered the loss, going the distance while allowing four goals on 44 shots.

The same two teams meet again Saturday in Prince George.

The Rockets will continue on the road with three games in Alberta.
