Two people turned up dead in two separate incidents in Vancouver within a 12-hour period, leading to two arrests.
Just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday night, police found a body at the property of the 116-year-old Gabriola Mansion in Vancouver's West End, near Nicola Street.
A 48-year-old man was arrested just before midnight and remains in custody.
Police say there is no concern for public safety and the investigation remains ongoing, with officers performing a grid search around the property.
At 6:30 a.m. Thursday, police were called to an apartment on the other side of town, in the area of Vanness Avenue and Rupert Street, where they found the body of a 61-year-old woman.
Police arrested a man inside the apartment without incident.
Homicide detectives are investigating the woman's death.
