Another man has died in the street in Kamloops Thursday night, though police can’t say whether a drug overdose is to blame.

Police responded to a call of a man in medical distress around 5:30 p.m. on 7th Avenue in the area of Peterson Creek. They could not resuscitate the victim.

Kamloops RCMP said Thursday they do not consider the death of the 50-year-old man to be suspicious. A second man, a 40-year-old who was with the victim, was taken to Royal Inland Hospital due to health issues that were not specified.

B.C. Coroners Service is investigating the sudden death and will determine whether drugs were involved.
