The Canada Day Society is looking for some patriotic volunteers.
Canada will turn 150 on July 1, 2017 and organizers are looking for help to put on a celebration.
A meeting will be held at the People Place, 3402 27 Ave., Tuesday, Sept. 27th, at 7 p.m. for those interested.
The 2016 Canada Day celebrations involved daytime activities in Polson Park and evening fireworks on Kalamalka Lake.
"Next year is Canada’s 150th anniversary and Vernon’s 125th anniversary. Last year was a stunning success and I anticipate that 2017 will be the biggest and the best Canada Day celebration ever,” said David Frost, president of the Canada Day Society said.
City Councillor Scott Anderson said, “I was so impressed with what Dave and his team achieved last year, and I look forward to an even bigger and better celebration next year.”
