Hockeyville ticket fever

The hockey fever is building in Lumby as residents lined up on Saturday to enter the lottery for a coveted NHL ticket.

The Lumby Chamber Visitors Centre was the place to be on Saturday as Kraft Hockeyville ballots were accepted for the preseason NHL game between the Edmonton Oilers and the LA Kings.

Kraft Hockeyville local organizer Angie Clowry said they were surprised at how smooth it all went, with 200 people lined up at one point.

Ballots will also be accepted Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lumby Chamber Visitors Centre.

Organizers are reminding Lumby and area residents to bring down two documents with their local Lumby address, such as a drivers license and vehicle insurance, to have their name included in the local Lumby draw.

“With a free community celebration planned for Oct. 1 at the Pat Duke Arena in Lumby, and the oval park with NHL players and alumni along with more events not yet released, Clowry says there is something for everyone and anyone whether they have a ticket to the NHL game or not,” write event organizers.

They say everyone will want to be in Lumby to celebrate Kraft Hockeyville Day.

Those who have the luck of the draw will find out Sept. 22 – names will be posted to the Vote Lumby for Kraft Hockeyville Facebook page.
