Two marine rescue boats scoured the waters below the William R. Bennett Bridge Saturday afternoon, after receiving reports of a person who jumped off the bridge and didn't resurface.
The call came in just after 1 p.m., and the boats, along with onshore RCMP officers, quickly began searching the area.
A single lane was briefly closed on the bridge as emergency responders looked on from above.
After talking with beach-goers at nearby Mushroom Beach, officers learned a person matching the description of the jumper had swam to shore earlier.
The RCMP called off the search at about 1:40 p.m.
