Kids changing the game

AO Summer Block Party is today, but it’s sold out.

So if you want to be part of the next big tech event, you need to have kids between 9 and 15 so they can participate in Change Gamers next Play Testing Days Sept. 1 at 10:30 a.m.

Change Gamers was started by Jason Richards and he is offering kids the opportunity to change the world.

Change Gamers puts the power and change into kids’ hands with an interactive mobile app that educates, engages and empowers youth to make the change in the world they want to see.  Visit www.changegamers.com to see how your kids can make a difference.

Wow. Great Way Martial Arts is celebrating its 23rd anniversary next weekend.

Congratulations to James and Esmerelda Heinrich. The belief in self-esteem, self respect and taking care of yourself has proven to be successful.

They have three locations now to take advantage of their $49 fall special. Take a look at their website.

Retro Roller Night is back for its second year.  I am amazed at how many people I see still Roller Skating.  Amanda Donaldson, aka Queen of the M___ F____ Universe, will be taking a break from her Roller Derby check, wraps and hooks to show us how to party roller-skating style.

Make sure you’re dressed to impress.

I am stoked for this because back in the day I was grooving out at the Wheels Roller Arena. The disco ball was turning, the lights were flashing and I was on fire.

See you at Stuart Park Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m.

The best part of writing this article is that people send me business information and event info that I may have not seen before.

I don’t know how I missed Neighbourhood Nosh at the Laurel Packinghouse that happens the first Thursday of every month.

Kelowna Museums provides you the opportunity to sample local bevies, treats, fruits and more while you mingle with new friends.

It is all done by donation as well. Check it out.

The other one I just learned about is the Jet Pack Lightshow that happens every Thursday and Saturday night at the EL.

All I know it is a light show you won’t soon forget. Not too many left though Aug 27, Sept. 1 and Sept. 3. Check it out at 9:30 p.m.

It’s the last week full before the kids go back to school so parents, do something fun.

Make it a great week!
