CRIME:  BREAK AND ENTER/BICYCLE THEFT

DATE:    August 10, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-46872

On August 10th a man called RCMP to report that someone had broken into a secure locker compound located in the Waterscapes building on Sunset Drive.  The culprits had also broken into numerous other lockers and cars.  Video surveillance indicated the thefts occurred on August 8th at 4:55 a.m. and were committed by two Caucasian men.  The man’s stolen green Niner RIP bike was recovered a few days later, but the thieves also took bike helmets, a camel pack and tools.  Another theft at that building was interrupted by a resident, who scared off the thieves, causing them to leave numerous items behind including a partially dismantled bike, bolt cutters and bear spray.  Police would like to identify this man as a person of interest in the thefts.
