Witnesses say a man drowned in Penticton's Skaha Lake on Saturday afternoon.
Several people who were at the beach said they saw firefighters go out in their rescue boat and bring a man to shore, near to the marina.
They performed CPR, but eventually stopped and placed either a blanket or towel over the man.
The RCMP and B.C. Ambulance were also on the scene.
"It was crazy, shocking to see and not something you see every day," said one man.
RCMP at the scene declined to comment.
This is the second drowning incident in the lake this summer.
Castanet will provide more details as they become available.
