Fisherman found

A man out fishing, who was reported missing by his family on Thursday, was located on the west shore of Skaha Lake.

Penticton Deputy Fire Chief Dave Spalding said firefighters were called out by the RCMP to search for the man in their rescue boat at about 6:58 p.m. The Okanagan Falls Fire Department was also dispatched to assist.

They did a search of the west shoreline and in the water, and they found the sleeping man on shore.

He was taken to the marina and handed over to the RCMP. He was then believed to be reunited with his family.

The RCMP could not be immediately reached for comment.
