CRIME:  ATTEMPTED THEFT OF ATM

DATE:    July 25, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-42601

Kelowna RCMP were alerted to a break and enter at a coin laundry business on Montgomery Road at 4:38 a.m. on July 25th.  Police attended and viewed video surveillance to discover that a white Sierra crew cab and a black 4-door SUV had arrived at the business.  Three suspects exited the pickup, smashed the business’s window and placed chains around an ATM machine.  They attempted to pull the ATM machine out of the building, however when the chain broke they quickly departed the area, driving down Leathead Road toward Highway 97 N. The suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts, masks/bandanas and gloves.  A licence plate number was obtained for the white crew cab, which had been recently stolen from a Nursery on Paynter Road in West Kelowna. The 2004 GMC Sierra crew cab bearing BC licence plate number BG4812 and VIN 1GTHK29U94E265345 has not yet been recovered.

CRIME:  THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

DATE:    July 23, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-42261

On July 23rd at 5:45 p.m. the victim of a vehicle theft attended the Rutland Community Policing Office to file a report.  The man and his family had just returned from camping and stopped for ice cream at the MacDonald’s on Highway 33.  While inside, the back of his truck was rummaged through and someone made off with an assortment of motorcycle gear.  The stolen items include:

  • 1 pair of black Fox Comp5 dirt bike boots (sz 11)
  • 1 pair of red and black Fox dirt bike boots (sz 8)
  • 1 pair of black knee braces
  • 1 pair of Fly motorcycle dirt bike pants (red, yellow and black) (sz 34)
