Enderby fire probe

An investigation is underway into the cause of a forest fire in the Enderby area on Tuesday, according to Max Birkner, fire information officer with the Kamloops fire centre.

B.C. Wildfire Service crews and a helicopter assisted the Enderby fire department in putting out the one-hectare blaze in a forested residential area at Twin Lakes Road.

"We have fire origin and cause people in the area today, assisting the Enderby fire department with this investigation," said Birkner.

Enderby fire chief Kevin Alstad said it could take some time to pinpoint the cause.

"There were a lot of guys out there pulling around hoses" while fighting the fire, he explained.
