Falcons make playoff push

With just 11 games left in the regular season, the Kelowna Falcons continue their push for a post season berth.

The Falcons remain tied with Victoria for the second half lead in the West Coast League following a 6-4 win over Wenatchee Tuesday night.

Despite finishing well back of Victoria in the first half of the season, the Falcons improved to 9-7, deadlocked with the HarbourCats for the second half playoff spot.

The Falcons broke open a 1-1 tie with three runs during a decisive third inning during Tuesday's series opener at Elk Stadium.

Jesse Moore delivered the big blow, driving home a pair with his second double of the night.

He scored the opening run of the game the previous inning after opening the second with a double.

Blake Randazzo scattered eight hits and struck out four over seven-and-a-third innings to earn the victory.

The Falcons and Apple Sox will battle again tonight in game two of the three-game series.

Kelowna heads out on its final road trip of the season following Thursday's game. They will make stops in Yakima and Bellingham, before closing out the regular season at home to Walla Walla.
