The long awaited stretch of typical summer weather is finally upon us.
Environment Canada says its prediction models show an extended period of warm and dry weather for Southern B.C. by the end of this week.
“Initially, a weak frontal boundary dividing the warm dry air to the south from the cooler moist air to the north will generate some patchy cloud and isolated afternoon showers over higher terrain,” explains Environment Canada.
“Also a weak upper disturbance will likely trigger more widespread thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon.”
The upper ridge will then move northward mid-week bringing sunny-hot weather to Southern B.C. through to the end of the week.
“Temperatures will likely rise into the mid thirties over the Southern Interior and approach the 30 C mark over the Lower Mainland, the warmest temperatures so far this July,” adds Environment Canada.
