Struck cyclist went berserk

A man is in hospital after a strange incident in Kelowna Friday night.

It happened before 9 p.m. on Dickson Avenue, near the Landmark buildings. 

"There was a man yelling on Dickson Avenue while riding his bike down the road," says a resident.

"Yelling things like 'Where's my dog,' 'I want my dog back,' 'I have you now,' and a few cuss words," says the witness. "Eventually (he) came back and was yelling again, tried to turn around again right in front of a van who thankfully stopped."

The man then attacked the van, which drove away.

A truck then came from the other direction.

"Driver tried to talk to the guy out his window but the bike guy started yelling so the driver tried to go, the biker guy latched onto the truck and fell off as the driver drove away," according to the witness. 

The man lying in the middle of the road when police arrived.

The witness says the cyclist was going berserk for some time.

"The guy was losing his mind and attacking cars."

The cyclist was taken to hospital.

Police have not released any information.
