Falcons streak ends at 6

The Kelowna Falcons saw their winning streak snapped at six games.

The Yakima Pippins scored the game winning run in the top of the 11th inning Wednesday in a 4-3 victory over the Falcons at Elk Stadium.

Kelowna had the tying run on first with two-out in the home half of the 11th, but were unable to bring him home.

After Yakima opened the scoring in the second, the Falcons assumed a 3-1 lead with a pair of runs in the third and a single run in the fourth.

Bowen Ogata and Max Carter each had RBI singles in the two-run third while Davis Todosichuk's groundout scored Vaughn Shapen in the fourth.

They were unable to score the rest of the way.

O'Keefe Hall was brilliant on the mound for the Falcons. Hall went eight strong innings, allowing three runs, two earned, while giving up five hits and striking out seven.

The two teams hook up tonight for game two of this three game mid-week series.

After getting a rare weekend off, the Falcons will entertain Wenatchee for a three game series beginning next Tuesday.
