Security at Vancouver International Airport is being beefed up following Tuesday's bombing at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.
At least 41 people died and hundreds more were injured during the attack, blamed on Islamic State extremists.
This is the second time this year security has been increased at YVR. In March, security was tightened following an attack at the airport in Brussels.
Transport Canada has not changed the security threat level in the country, which remains at "medium," YVR's acting vice-president of operations told CTV Vancouver.
"But we still have increased a little bit of the security and procedures at the airport," Don Ehrenholz said.
"This is just a heightened presence to make sure that nothing bad could possibly happen."
This is the busiest time of year at Vancouver International, with 6.2 million passengers expected to pass through the airport between June and August.
