Are you ready for COG?

Monster Energy Center of Gravity (MECOG) will be here before you know it in Kelowna’s City Park July 8 – 10. The city is gearing up for a weekend packed full of adrenaline-pumping sports and pulse-pumping music.

If you’ve already been then you know you’re in for a great time, but if you've never hit up Canada’s Hottest Beach Festival then here are three fantastic reasons to check it out.

1. The lineup
Surprise, surprise. This is the main reason people travel in a car with no A/C for eight hours with four other friends and a trunk stuffed to the brim with festival necessities (a.k.a. outfits); to see the music.

This year MECOG has done it again with an amazing lineup featuring some of the best names in electronic, hip hop and live music today including none other than the hip-hop legend Ice Cube! Joining him on the bill will be electronic heavy-hitters like Skrillex and Afrojack along with Kid Ink, Machine Gun Kelly, Showtek and so many more! View the full lineup here.

2. The location
Everyone knows that Kelowna is one of the top tourist destinations in Canada. With its warm climate, beautiful beaches, and hillsides covered by acres of wineries and orchards, it’s easy to see why thousands flock to Kelowna during the summertime. What makes MECOG stand out from other BC festivals is the fact that it not only takes place in the heart of a vibrant city but also the fact that it’s on a BEACH. And who doesn’t love beaches? Pack your water wings! Click here for more info about the festival venue.

3. The sports
How many world class music festivals also mix in high-energy sports? MECOG actually started out as a beach volleyball festival in 2007 called Volleyfest and has since grown bigger and bigger every year! MECOG now features six spectator sport zones featuring athletes competing throughout the weekend in beach volleyball, basketball, wakeboarding, wakeskating, freestyle motocross, BMX and skateboarding for some major cash prizes. The festival also has three interactive sport zones that allow festival-goers to compete alongside friends and take part in the competitive spirit of the weekend including Zorb Soccer, Rec. Volleyball and the Gauntlet Games. For more info on the sport zones click here.

These are just a few of the reasons people flock to MECOG every year for Canada’s Hottest Beach Festival! Make 2016 the year to check it out for yourself. Visit www.centerofgravity.ca for full festival and ticket info.
