Rescue crews are searching Okanagan Lake for a missing woman, who went into the water after the canoe she was in overturned.
A witness says an older man and his wife of about 35 years were in the canoe when it flipped Sunday at about 7:30 p.m. in Lake Country
"I was out working in the vineyard," said Okanagan Centre resident Tom Potts. "On my way out, I noticed a canoe on the beach. I waved and he waved and I left."
When he returned to the vineyard a little later, there were numerous emergency crews on the scene.
The man was pulled out of the water by someone in a ski boat. He's reportedly OK, but distraught.
Lake Country Fire Department firefighters have been scouring the water for the missing woman.
A police dive team has now been requested.

About 12 divers scoured 200 metres of shoreline Sunday night, looking for someone who may have been dumped out of a canoe.
A witness saw the canoe overturned in Okanagan Lake near Okanagan Centre in Lake Country at about 8 p.m.
Items were seen floating near the boat, but they were carried away within 10 minutes, so the accident may have just happened at that time.
UPDATE: 9 p.m.
Two marine rescue boats are searching Okanagan Lake after an overturned canoe was spotted.
The boat was seen drifting about about 200 feet off the shore near Okanagan Centre in Lake Country.
It's still unclear whether someone was in the boat.
