Manhunt after shot fired

A second male has been taken into custody related to a fight where a firearm was produced and discharged in the 700 Block of McGill Road at 11:20 a.m. this morning. 
 
The Kamloops RCMP would like to thank the residents that were asked to evacuate their residences on McGill Road and advise that they can return home. 
 
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and the RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed this incident that has not spoken to the RCMP to please call 250-828-3000, so that an investigator can be put in contact with them.

Kamloops police have surrounded a residence on the 700 block of McGill Road and are negotiating with a person inside, who they believe was involved in this morning’s shooting.

Police have asked the public to avoid the 700 block of McGill Road.

Kamloops police have one man in custody and are still looking for another, after a handgun was discharged during an altercation near Thompson Rivers University Saturday morning.

Two men were seen arguing in the 700 block of McGill Road at 11:20 a.m., when one of the men produced a handgun and fired it.

Both men fled the scene.

Police later caught one of the men, but the other, a Caucasian man in his early 20s with a buzz cut and a black and white Adidas sweater, is still on the loose.

Police have recovered a firearm from the area, and continue to search for the second man.
