Wind roars through Valley

A storm is working its way up the Valley.

Reports of strong winds, rain and even some hail have come in from the Peachland area, power has been knocked out to some 3,000 homes in West Kelowna and trees are reported to have been blown down in Kelowna.

Environment Canada is calling for winds coming from the northwest at 20 km/h, gusting to 60 km/h near thunderstorms early in the evening.

The winds are expected to die down as the evening progresses and tonight's low will be plus 3 C with a risk of frost.

Despite the unsettled conditions, a weather alert has not been issued.

There have been no reports of serious damage.
