Tour city's best gardens

The Okanagan is home to some beautiful gardens, and you can see some of the best during the 19th annual Kelowna Garden Tour.

The self-guided tour takes place June 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nine private gardens will be opened up to the public.

The gardens range from large estates to smaller family gardens.

Gardening experts will be on site at several of the locations to answer questions and offer advice.

Early bird tickets for the event are available for $29, but the price increases to $34 as of June 1.

They are available at Bylands, Art Knapp, Green & Bear It, The Greenery, Dogwood Nursery, Rick’s Garden World and Kelowna Tickets at Orchard Park Shopping Centre.

Funds raised by the event go to Chefs in the Classroom, an "edible education" initiative by the Okanagan Chefs Association and Central Okanagan Community Gardens.

Castanet is also giving away a pair of tickets. Enter by sending us a picture of your garden. The winner will be randomly drawn from all entries.

Send your ONE photo to [email protected].

The contest closes June 7. One entry per household.
