For a second straight year, you can catch all of the excitement of the Canadian Culinary Championships from the comfort of your computer, tablet or phone.

Through a community programming grant from TELUS Optik Local, Render Digital Media, has produced a three-episode series from the championship, held earlier this year in Kelowna.

The series will follow each chef’s experience as they navigate the complexities of the three competitions, including:

• The Wine Pairing Challenge: Chefs are given a mystery bottle of wine and must create a dish with local ingredients that best complements the mysterious vintage, in a set amount of time and with a set budget.
• The Black Box: One of the most exciting parts to the competition! Chefs will receive only 10 minutes notice, and a black box containing 10 ingredients of diverse foods before having to produce and plate one spectacular dish using six of the 10 ingredients for the national judges. All in one very short hour!
• The Grand Finale: On the final night of competition, anything goes. Chefs create their best dish for guests to sample, paired with a great wine from their regional winery partner. By evening’s end, Canada’s Champion Chef of 2014 will be crowned.
