Pepper sprayed, harassed, threatened and taken a drink tossed in the face.
Kelowna transit drivers faced numerous assaults recently. Four people were arrested Friday in connection with several transit assaults, while two suspects are still wanted.
The spate of violence has the local transit union calling for increased protection for bus drivers.
“There are safety options available to the transit authority to protect the driver, shields are one option,” says Scott Lovell, president of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1722.
