Water advisory for Ellison

A water quality advisory remains in effect for 400 residents living within the Ellison area, east of Old Vernon Road.

The Glenmore-Ellison Improvement District (GEID) warns of elevated turbidity levels and poor water quality conditions that are typical within the Mill Creek source during summer months.

The water quality is being monitored by GEID staff and the distribution system is being maintained.

Those properties under the advisory have water that is considered fair due to elevated turbidity. Interior Health recommends children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems, boil their water for one minute or seek a safe alternative.

While GEID customers in the Glenmore area receiving water from the new Okanagan Lake intake via the McKinley Reservoir have attained water quality improvements in recent months, they still remain under the advisory.

No advisory is in effect for properties serviced by the McKinley Landing water system.
