“A perennial figure at every SSO event, Noreen was a great champion of music in our community – her laughter, and passion, and sense of community, and love of music will be missed by everyone at the SSO. A true friend to the arts and a wonderful teacher, Noreen not only passed on the gift of how to play the piano, but a love of live music to her students.”

Kelowna RCMP Const. Jesse O'Donaghey said police and the BC Coroner's Service continue to investigate the incident.

O'Donaghey said on May 1 shortly after 9 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a drowning incident at the H20 Centre on Gordon Drive.

“Police have learned that the victim was quickly pulled from the water by lifeguards who immediately began CPR. Preliminary information indicates that the woman may have been in medical distress prior to going below the water's surface,” said O'Donaghey

According to triathlon organizers, Wensley suffered a heart attack in the pool.

Wensley was taken to Kelowna General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
