A report of shots fired had Kamloops RCMP rushing en masse to a residence in the 900 block of 13th Street around 11:45 a.m. Friday.
“The residence identified was well-known to police and numerous officers responded to this call,” said Staff Sgt. Edward Preto, in a press release.
Eight people were inside the building where it was determined that an occupant had thrown a lighted firework from the porch of the duplex, causing the bang.
Although no gun was fired, police made an arrest and found some illegal drugs.
“One of the occupants had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for breach of probation. This male was arrested and brought to Kamloops RCMP cells and was held for court,” said Preto. “Another occupant was in possession of methamphetamine that was seized by police.”
The investigation into the drug possession is continuing, he said.
