600 over for turkey dinner

Staff members at Kelowna’s Gospel Mission are in clean up mode today after serving a full turkey feast to 600 guests this weekend.

From noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday, the Gospel Mission opened its doors for the annual family Easter banquet.

With the help of more than 50 volunteers, including some notable faces like MLA Steve Thomson, MLA Norm Letnick and MP Stephen Fuhr, the massive dinner was a big success.

“We are grateful for God’s gift of redemption this Easter and happy to be able to celebrate with our family in the Gospel Mission and our family from the community,” said Gospel Mission executive director Randy Benson.

Each guest received a full plate of turkey, ham, stuffing, veggies, gravy, a bun and a slice of pie.
