Flavours and Flicks

A new festival starts in Kamloops this week celebrating local wines, food and film.

The Kamloops Wineries Association, Kamloops Film Festival and local participating restaurants are taking part in the Flavours & Flicks festival.

“Guests can enjoy dining from a specially prepared feature menu at one of the participating restaurants and then head to the Paramount Theatre to watch one of this year’s exiting 2016 Kamloops Film Festival movie options,” says a press release.

From March 3-12, patrons can enjoy a three-course meal priced at $35 to $45 at participating restaurants. Complimenting each menu, at an additional cost, will be a selection of local Kamloops wine pairings from Harper’s Trail, Monte Creek Ranch and Privato.

After the meal, people can head to the Paramount Theatre to take in one of the movies presented at this year’s film festival.

“It is all about getting people out of the house and out on the town to celebrate the best of what Kamloops has to offer,” says Trish Morelli, executive director of the Kamloops Wineries Association. “Combining local wines with the culinary arts and the performing arts offers endless opportunities and is a culture that we would like to see more of in Kamloops.”

Restaurants partnering in the inaugural event include; the South Thompson Inn, Hoodoos, Terra, Brownstone, Fireside Steakhouse, Commodore, Mittz Kitchen, Romeo’s Kitchen, Blue at Hotel 540, Prime Grill, Dunes Golf Course, and Citrus.
