Shed fire on Weddell

UPDATE: DEC. 2

No injuries were reported as a result of a blaze in a large shed on Ethel Street.

The shed off Weddell Place caught fire at approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday with crews rushing to the scene following a number of 911 calls reporting the blaze.

When crews arrived they found a large shed fully engulfed next to the main building.

“The engine-one crew made access to the property and quickly knocked down the flames before any other buildings were involved,” says platoon captain Eric Simpson.

Kelowna Fire Department investigators are on the scene this morning, but as it stands the fire does not look suspicious.

“The KFD would like to remind people to make sure all electrical extensions cords are in good shape going into this holiday season,” adds Simpson.
