Missing Mexicans found

Four Mexican migrant farm workers missing from the Okanagan since the summer have been found, but police refuse to say where.

The men were reported missing on June 26 by the owner of the farm where they were employed after they failed to return to work, however, police are not saying where or when the men were located.

“The Vernon RCMP has confirmed that the men have been located,” said Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy, but declined to provide any further information.

The four men were among 1,500 Mexicans working this summer in the Valley as part of the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program.

They had been in Canada for only 10 days when they took a cab into Vernon, June 26, from the orchard where they were employed. They cashed some cheques and haven't been heard from since.
