The Kamloops Fire Centre has lifted the ban on campfires right before the long weekend, and despite several cooler damp days, some think it might be too early.
An open fire is now permitted within the Okanagan that burns piled material no larger than 0.5 m in height and 0.5 m in width and is used by any person for recreational purpose.
However, after a summer filled with smoke and fires and very little rain, many are wondering if campfires should still be banned.
