Multi-use recreational trails in the South Okanagan gained some financial support compliments of Maple Leaf Spirits.
Since springtime, the Penticton craft distilling company has donated their tasting fees to the South Okanagan Trail Alliance (SOTA) raising more than $1,000 in the process.
SOTA is a community group dedicated to ensuring residents of the South Okanagan can enjoy a comprehensive network of signed and sanctioned trails
“I’ve always been fond of the Engel family, and this expression of support highlights what amazing people they are. We’ll use these funds to purchase wood and fasteners for bridges and walkways, fuel for saws and funding for additional hand-tools used in our trail-building and maintenance tasks. I encourage everyone to support family businesses like Maple Leaf Spirits - locals who truly understand the value of community volunteerism,” said SOTA founder Andrew Drouin.
Maple Leaf Spirits is one of the oldest distilleries in British Columbia, offering award-winning spirits, fruit brandies and liqueurs handcrafted in the European tradition. Master Distiller Jörg Engel's spirits have received a variety of awards at the prestigious International Spirits and Liqueur Competition in Austria, including bronze, silver, gold and the coveted Spirit of the Year award.
Their tasting room is located on Naramata Bench, and is open until Christmas.
