The B.C. Coroners Service has identified the man killed following a head-on collision with a tour bus Friday.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Sascha Dieter Hedrich of Pritchard.

The incident occurred on a stretch of Highway 1 about 11 kilometres west of Chase.

He was was the driver and sole occupant of a westbound car on the Trans-Canada, in an area known as Hoffman Bluffs, that collided with an eastbound tour bus about 4 p.m.

Hedrich was deceased at the scene.

The tour bus was carrying 56 Korean passengers as well as the driver. Everyone on board the bus was taken to Royal Inland Hospital. Thirty six of those were not injured.

Everyone has since been released.

The Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate the incident.
