Water restrictions imposed

The first wave of watering restrictions is now in place in Kelowna.

The restrictions put a limit on what days residents can water their lawns. Homes with odd numbered addresses can water on odd calendar days and those with even numbers can water on even days.

Automatic underground irrigation systems will be allowed to operate between midnight and 6 a.m., and manual sprinklers are allowed to water between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m., on the appropriate odd or even day.

The restrictions will be in place until September 30, when the city will re-evaluate the water situation.
